METRO ANNOUNCES NEW NORTH LINE CONSTRUCTION DETOUR
Construction for the new, North Light-rail Line requires a detour for traffic in the area of North Main between Brooks and Hogan streets. The work is scheduled to begin mid-May and expected to last approximately twelve months.
Northbound traffic on North Main will travel one lane only between Brooks and Hogan. Southbound lanes in that area will be closed entirely. To avoid lane closures and continue south on North Main – make a left on Hogan, a right on Freeman and another right on Brooks to return to North Main.
Construction in this area will also impact eastbound traffic on Harrington Street which will not be able to access North Main. Commuters are encouraged to use Keene and Brooks as alternate routes. Update
Sidewalks along the eastern portion of North Main will be closed. To ensure safety detours are being created and signs placed directing pedestrians to the west side of North Main. Area bus stops are being relocated and access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.
Please note that dates and times relating to construction on this project are approximate and subject to change.
