College of the Mainland will host an Adjunct Job Fair Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon in the COM Gymnasium.
COM is seeking instructors in all disciplines of its credit and non-credit programs. Some of the disciplines include early childhood, nursing, math, science, business, fine arts, ESL, continuing education, GED, workforce training, social and behavioral sciences and collegiate high school. Classes are offered during the day, evenings, weekends, and during summer and winter sessions.
During the job fair, prospective adjunct instructors will have the opportunity to speak directly with various departmental and campus administrators to discuss employment and educational background, and teaching areas of interest.
Credit instructor positions require a master's degree with 18 hours of graduate hours in the specific area to be taught. However, most non-credit programs require a Bachelor’s degree with preferred instructional experience in teaching adult basic education.
Those interested in attending should bring copies of their resume. Candidates must also go to https://jobs.com.edu to apply for all positions. Computer stations will be available for applicants to apply during the event. For more information, call Human Resources at 409-933-8269.
