Stella M. Dumas
Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary

Stella M. DumasStella M. Dumas, 94, received her reward of eternal rest on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospital of Clear Lake.

Stella was born February 18, 1917, in Galveston to Alvin and Stella Chargois. A lifelong member of Holy Rosary, she attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, where she graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1933. She was employed as a LVN at John Sealy Hospital and served on the Board of Directors of LVN state association and continued to serve after her retirement. She also served in numerous other church and civic organizations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncle who raised her, Claudia and Ursan Myers; husband, Harry Dumas; and son, Michael.

She leaves precious memories with her son, David Dumas; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; devoted cousins, Littleton III, Robert (Barbara) and Walter L. (Jean) Henderson; a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 9AM Saturday, May 14, 2011, with a rosary led by the Ladies Auxiliary of K.P.C. at 9:30 AM, followed by funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father John Bok celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston.
