The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to approve an estimated $6.5 million contract with Borden, Kurz and Labatt for general food and full service food distribution.
The school board voted unanimously to adopt an order canvassing the May 14 General Election and declaring the results.
Win Webber took her oath of office for a new term as Trustee for District 2, while Ken Baliker was sworn in for District 3 and Page Rander was sworn in to fill the remainder of the unexpired term for District 4.
The school board voted unanimously to re-elect Dee Scott as president of the board. Ken Baliker was also re-elected vice president and Ann Hammond was re-elected as secretary.
The school board tabled action on a change to school policy regarding basic instructional programs for required instruction at all levels. The policy is being considered due to changes in state law regarding education on contraception.
"Laws have recently changed allowing schools to initiate the topic of contraception,” Superintendent Dr. Greg Smith said. “In the past, there could be no classroom instruction about contraception unless it was student initiated. The change to the policy creates an alignment with the legal policy and also allows the topic to be discussed in the classroom but will incorporate the effects of high risk behavior associated with the contraceptive.”
The item was tabled for further review by the policy committee.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
