Watchful Neighbor + Quick Police Response = Burglary Suspect Caught
Neighbors watching out for each other and calling the police when something did not seem just right resulted in the capture of a burglary suspect. Officers responded to a possible burglary that had just occurred in the 5000 block of Abercreek. A witness called police about suspicious activity at a neighbor's residence. The witness provided a detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle as it was leaving the scene. Within minutes, officers located the suspect vehicle and had the suspect detained.
Michael Ryan Knight, 26, of Webster, is charged with Burglary. He forced his way into the residence, cutting himself on a broken window in the process. Reports indicate that Knight was "high" at the time of today's burglary. Not surprising, Knight was arrested in March by Friendswood police for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 (Oxycontin).
After Knight's capture, he was treated at a local hospital for a hand laceration. He was released to the Friendswood City Jail where he awaits transfer to the Harris County Jail. Bond has not been set.
