The College of the Mainland Board of Trustees on Monday voted to name Ralph Holm as chair of the board.
Newly-elected trustee Roney McCrary was named vice chair, and Rosalie Kettler was named secretary.
The college board voted unanimously to name Nunzio Arcia as the college’s interim controller.
The college board voted unanimously to name Helen Duvall as the college’s interim purchasing director.
The college board voted 5-1-1, with Wayne Miles opposed and Rosalie Kettler abstaining, to approve appointments of various faculty and staff positions. The appointments included:
- Earl Alexander as Community Mentor/Recruiter, Outreach & Community Services
- Elaine Childs as Assistant Professor of English, Humanities
- Lalanya Ennis as Assistant Professor of Psychology, Social & Behavioral Sciences
- Julianna Garcia as Assistant Professor of Speech, Humanities
- LaWanda Franks as Assistant Professor of Psychology, Social & Behavioral Sciences
- Davon Hatchett as Grant Development Specialist, Institutional Advancement/COM Foundation
- James Kingsmill as Assistant Professor of Reading, Academic Success
- Patricia Ovesny, Assistant Professor of History, Social & Behavioral Sciences
- Dalel Serda as Course Management System Administrator, Distance Education
- Brett Stephens as Course Management System Administrator, Distance Education
- Nakia Welch as Assistant Professor of Speech, Humanities
- Gary Wilson, Assistant Professor of History, Social & Behavioral Sciences
The college board voted unanimously to approve the creation of a Pharmacy Technician Degree program.
The college board scheduled a board retreat meeting for June 15 at 11 a.m.
