The La Marque Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted to renew a property insurance policy with Rust Ewing Insurance.
The annual policy premium totals $914,256 for primary coverage, and $40,125 for windstorm coverage.
The school board voted to elect Annie Burton as president of the board, Travis Smith as vice president and Joe Cantu as secretary.
During the meeting, oaths of office were administered to Burton, Cantu and Nakisha Paul for their new terms on the board. Burton and Cantu each defeated challengers at the May 14 election to be re-elected to the board in District 5 and District 6, respectively. Paul defeated incumbent David Rac for the District 4 seat.
Incumbent Dr. Bill Spillar and challenger Davey Jones tied at the election. An automatic recount is being held and a runoff election may be called on Thursday if a tie remains.
The school board voted to sanction the 4-H Organization at the district. The organization's student activities are recognized as school events.
