The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County Board of Directors on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve an interlocal purchasing agreement with the City of Houston.

“I think this is an example of our strategic priority of becoming a trusted community partner,” said METRO President and CEO George Greanias. “We are very pleased about this. We also are not going to stop with this effort; we want to see this expanded to other government entities in the region, including the county, and we think that’s a real possibility.”
The board voted to extend a contract with Atser, L.P., increasing the contract amount from $1.25 million to $2.782 million.
The board voted to approve a $75,000 contract with Andrews Kurth as disclosure counsel for the issuance of bonds and contractual obligations.
The board voted to approve a contract with Tommie Vaughn Motors for the purchase and delivery of five Motorist Assistance Program vehicles in an amount not to exceed $123,495.
All other agenda items were approved. All votes were unanimous.
