Lola J. Davis

Lola J. DavisLola J. Davis received her reward of eternal rest on Thursday May 26, 2011. Lola, a native of Houston attended public school there and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She later attended Prairie View A&M University where she studied business administration.

She worked for many years at John F.
Kennedy Elementary as the school secretary, served as Administrative Planner for former Governor Mark White and also served as Administrative Officer for the Houston office of the Texas Department of Labor and Standards.

Lola and along with a few gracious lady, created the 40 Plus Modeling Group to provide scholarships to students throughout the Houston area.

Lola is survived by the joys of her life, her sons: Rev. Edward L. Burkley III (Linda and Edward IV), Rev. Mark A. Burkley (Diane and Christopher), and Pastor Norris D. Burkley, Sr. (Debra, Norris II and Mark II); daughter, Kim Leah Milstead (Michael, Bradley (Lauryn Ashley) Joshua); along with a host of other relative and friends

Viewing will begin at 10AM on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the Lily Grove Baptist Church (7034 Tierwester, Houston, TX) followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM  with Pastor Terry K. Anderson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Paradise North Cemetery in Houston.
