The City of Galveston has received 55 applications for the position of police chief, to replace Charles Wiley, who is retiring.

Interim City Manager Brian Maxwell will select the new chief after the applicants’ resumes are reviewed by a panel of city officials and interviews are conducted with some of the candidates.
