HOUSTON — The Coast Guard is searching for a man who went missing at 45th Street and Seawall in Galveston, Thursday.

The 21-year old man, who was swimming approximately 30 yards offshore and wearing a tan shirt and white shorts, was last seen shortly after 1 p.m.

The Coast Guard launched a MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station Houston, as well as a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium and crew from Station Galveston. Lifeguards and the Galveston Beach Patrol are also searching for the man.
