St. Representative Sylvester Turner will host the Juneteenth Centennial Parade for the Acres Homes Community in Northwest Houston on Saturday, June 18th.

The parade is dedicated to preserving the rich history of the Acres Homes Community and to celebrate the holiday of Juneteenth.  Participants in the parade include community churches, civic groups, drill teams, school bands, trail riders and elected officials.   Everyone in the community is encouraged to come watch this exciting event.

"I am very excited to be able to celebrate the community of Acres Homes and to have a parade that is a worthy tribute to our rich heritage," said Rep. Turner.

The Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center, 6719 W. Montomery.  It will head north on W. Montgomery, turn right on Wheatley and end at Anderson Academy, 7401 Wheatley.
