HISD Board President’s Monthly TV Show
June Edition of Paula Harris’ “Student Achievement Show” to Focus on Science

HISD Board President Paula Harris will interview HISD students from DeBakey and Bellaire High School who recently returned from competing at the Intel International Science Fair in Los Angeles. Students from Westside High School who built a car and competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon will also share their experiences on the board president’s monthly television program.

What: Monthly HISD “Student Achievement Show” hosted by Board President Paula Harris 

When: Throughout the month of June at www.houstonisd.org and on HISD-TV (Comcast channel 18 and AT&T U-verse channel 99) at the following dates and times.

          Sunday June 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 8:30 p.m.
          Wednesday June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 8:30 p.m.

Why: HISD Board President Paula Harris is committed to showcasing the academic achievements of HISD students and highlighting the many district wide initiatives that are aimed at boosting student achievement and preparing students to be prepared for college and a career once they graduate from high school. An engineer at Schlumberger, Harris is particularly interested in getting students excited about math and science at an early age. Her “Student Achievement Show” airs monthly with a new topic and guests from HISD schools, including students, teachers, and principals.
