TCISD Foundation calls for Hall of Honor 2011 nominations
TEXAS CITY – The TCISD Foundation for the Future has opened the nomination process for the 2011 Hall of Honor. In 2006, the TCISD Foundation for the Future developed the prestigious Hall of Honor, which has been designed to recognize Texas City ISD graduates who have excelled in their field of expertise and made significant contributions to their respective communities.
The Foundation for the Future is currently looking for nominees for the sixth Hall of Honor induction, which will take place in the fall. Candidates should be a graduate of Wolvin, Central, Texas City High School or Booker T. Washington. Ideal candidates should be a role model for others by having made significant contributions through outstanding service to their community or accomplishments through their chosen profession.
Deborah Laine, executive director for the foundation, said a special committee will select up to 10 nominees to be presented to the TCISD Foundation for the Future Board of Directors. The Board will narrow the field until the selected individuals (up to four) are named to be inducted to the Hall of Honor. They will be recognized at an installation dinner set for Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center. Tickets will go on sale to the community after September 1, 2011.
“The committee will select a cross section of high quality Texas City ISD graduates who have continued to represent excellence in their personal and professional lives,” said Laine. “Because of the limited number of honorees each year, nominees remain in the pool of candidates for selection for three years after their initial nomination.”
Anyone can nominate a Hall of Honor candidate. The application can be found on the TCISD web page by logging on to www.tcisd.org/hallofhonor. For more information about the dinner or about the Hall of Honor, call 409-916-0800 or e-mail email@example.com. Nominations close on Thursday, July 28th.
