LIT has several scholarships
still available for students


BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology has several scholarships available to students who will be attending LIT for the Fall 2011 semester.

The Alice Cater Scholarship awards one recipient $100 a semester for two semesters. Applicants must have a 2.5 overall GPA.

The Golden Pass LNG Scholarship is for a student majoring in process operating or instrumentation. Preference is given to a graduate of Sabine Pass High School and employees or family of an employee at Golden Pass. Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA, and disbursement of the scholarship is $250 a semester for two semesters.

The Trisha and Randy Pollard Scholarship is for those majority in emergency medical technology, welding technology or general business. The scholarship is for $500 a semester for four semesters.

The Firestone Polymers Scholarship is for a student majoring in process operating technology. Applicants must have a 3.0 and be a full-time student. The scholarship is for $125 a semester for two semesters.

An LIT scholarship application must be filled out for the above scholarships. Scholarship applications may be found on the LIT Web site, under Financial Aid.

The Beaumont Foundation of America C. Edward Keller Scholarship provides $2,000 per semester to three recipients majoring in a program in the Department of Public Service and Safety. The application may be found at
