The La Marque Independent School District Board of Trustees on Thursday voted to name Morris Gurnell as the principal of La Marque High School.
The item was considered following an executive session to discuss the item.
The school board voted to renew a contract agreement with Null-Lairson for providing auditing services. Null-Lairson conducts the audit of the school district’s financial records.
The school board voted to approve a joint election agreement with the City of La Marque for the June 25 special election. Voters will cast their ballots on the board’s District 7 seat. Incumbent Dr. Bill Spillar and challenger Davey Jones tied in the May 14 election.
The school board tabled action regarding an update to the Local Leave Policy.
The school board voted to approve a dual credit partnership agreement with College of the Mainland.
The school board met in executive session to discuss various items, including personnel recommendations, duties of board members, board relations and communications and board relations with the superintendent. No action was taken on any of the items.
