United States Coast Guard
News Release
Thursday, June 16, 2011

On June 17, 2011, Cmdr. Eric Gleason will assume the responsibility of commanding officer of Air Station Houston from Cmdr. Christopher Moss.  Rear Adm. Roy Nash, Commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District will preside over the ceremony.

Moss was assigned as commanding officer of Air Station Houston in 2009.  He will depart the air station for the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington D.C., where he will attend Senior Service School for the next year.

Gleason, a 1992 Coast Guard Academy graduate, arrived in Houston from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., where he was the operations officer.  While at Air Station Cape Cod, Gleason was designated as an MH-60J and MH-60T aircraft commander, and assisted in directing Coast Guard aviation operations off the New England coast.

"Each new duty station comes with new possibilities," said Gleason.  "I'm looking forward to the next two years and the challenges ahead in the Gulf region.  Guarding the Gulf Coast is an enormous responsibility, and we will be ready to respond when the call comes," he said.
