Morales signs National Letter of Intent to play basketball at St. Thomas

PASADENA, Texas – Deer Park’s Adrian Morales has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and basketball career at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

For his San Jac career, Morales, a 5-11 guard (Deer Park HS), averaged 3.2 points, 1.3 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game. In his two years at San Jacinto College (SJC), he started in 19 games, shot 88 percent from the charity stripe, and led SJC to a 54-10 overall record (.844 win percentage).

San Jac finished the 2010-2011 season with a 29-4 overall record, and a final national ranking of fourth in the country. SJC advanced to the Region XIV tournament championship for the first time since 2006 before falling to Lamar State-Port Arthur in the final.

The 2010 St. Thomas Celts finished the season 13-14 overall, third in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.). This season, they will move to the Red River Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
