LU Dance Team members to sign contracts Tuesday

Thirty-one students will sign contracts Tuesday as members of the Lamar University Dance Team.

Dance team members will sign their contracts and have an orientation at 3:15 p.m. in McDonald Gym in the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center.

“We had a really successful audition – the best yet,” said Brixey Blankenship, head coach of the LU Dance Team.

The Dance Team performs routines as pre-game and halftime entertainment at Lamar football games. They also will perform with the LU Cheerleading Team during timeouts and at halftime of home basketball games.

The Dance Team and Cheerleading Team are components of the Lamar University Spirit Team, which is part of the Department of Recreational Sports.
