The Dickinson Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to award a $3,328,000 contract to Martin-Harris Construction Company for the renovation of a school district building for use by the Technology Department.

The school board voted unanimously to convert the interest rate on Variable Rate Unlimited Tax Schoolhouse Bonds issued in 2008 from a weekly rate to a term rate.

The school board voted unanimously to endorse the re-appointment of Joe Adams and Manuel Guajaro, Jr. to the Texas Association School Boards Board of Directors.  Adams, who also serves on the Katy ISD school board, is in position 4A on the TASB Board.  Guajardo, a school board member at Texas City ISD, serves in 4B.

The school board voted unanimously to approve the sale of tax property.

The school board discussed, but took no action regarding the band uniform purchase and replacement plan.

The school board discussed, but took no action regarding school finance and the 2011-2012 budget.

The school board discussed, but took no action regarding recent training and the Gulf Coast School Board Association.

The school board met in executive session to discuss, but took no action regarding the superintendent’s contract document language.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  Trustee Jeff Pitmann was absent.  Agenda
