Galveston City Council on Thursday will consider a specific use permit for the proposed Downtown Transportation Terminal, which is being built by Mitchell Historic Properties as a project of the Livable Communities Initiative. The Galveston Planning Commission on Tuesday recommended approval of the SUP.
However, on Monday the Galveston Landmark Commission deferred a decision on a certificate of appropriateness for the design of the facility, and asked the architects to return with a revised plan. The Landmark Commission approval will be required for the project to move forward.
