The Dickinson Independent School District Board of Trustees, in a special meeting on Wednesday, voted unanimously to approve a four-year contract with incoming Superintendent Vicki Mims.
Mims was named as lone finalist for the position on June 1. She replaces Dr. Leland Williams, who is retiring from the district after serving 16 years as superintendent. News Release
Mims has been an employee of the district for 32 years in various positions, including teacher, counselor and principal. Most recently she has served as assistant superintendent for educational services.
Mims will receive a salary of $135,000 per year.
The school board voted unanimously to approve the a transition plan for the new superintendent.
Trustee Linda Butler was absent from the meeting. No other action items were on the agenda. Agenda
