The cities of La Marque, Pearland and Port Arthur, as well as La Marque Independent School District, will hold special and runoff elections on Saturday for various positions.

In La Marque, the city will hold a special mayoral election to fill the vacancy left by the recall of Geraldine Sam. Sam is on the ballot for re-election to her unexpired term as mayor, and is challenged by Bobby Hocking.

La Marque will also hold a runoff election for City Council District D between Clent Brown and David Pennington.  Election Information

La Marque ISD will hold a runoff election for District 7 on the district's board of trustees between incumbent Dr. Bill Spillar and Davey Jones. Jones and Spillar tied in the May 14 election, triggering a recount and an eventual runoff.  Election Information

Pearland will hold a runoff between Susan Sherrouse and Tammy Dexter for City Council Position 3. Sherrouse and Dexter received the top amount of votes in the five-candidate race for the council seat in May.  Election Information

Port Arthur will hold two runoff elections. Harold Doucet and Warren Field will compete for the District 4 seat, while Willie “Bae” Lewis, Jr. and Derrick Freeman will vie for the District 7 seat.  Election Information
