TCISD hires new principal for Northside Elementary
TEXAS CITY – The Texas City Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Kendra Strange, Ed.D. to take the helm at Northside Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year. Principal Susan Wilson has taken over the role of Director of the district’s Pre-K/Head Start program
Strange, who has a 10-year career in education, has been the assistant principal at Runyan Elementary School in Conroe ISD for the last two years. She has also served as a literacy coach in Fort Worth ISD. Strange began her career as an elementary teacher in Fort Worth. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, a Master of Arts degree from Asia Pacific Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Tarleton State University - Texas A&M University System. She also holds principal certification from Tarleton State.
“Dr. Strange is going to be a great fit in Texas City ISD,” said Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Susan Myers. “She is a dedicated, resourceful educational leader with a proven ability to succeed with diverse populations. She is going to continue to foster dynamic student achievement at Northside.”
