Space Shuttle Program Overview

photos by Pat PattonOn June 30 Johnson Space Center invited reporters covering NASA’s last shuttle mission for NASA’s Shuttle Program Overview, the STS-135 Mission Overview, the STS-135 Spacewalk Overview, and the STS-135 Crew News Conference.

The STS-135 astronauts are:  Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley and Mission Specialists Sandra Magnus and Rex Walheim.  The STS-135 Launch Target is July 8, 2011. 

Space Shuttle Atlantis will carry the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module to deliver supplies, logistics and spare parts to the International Space Station. The mission also will fly a system to investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing spacecraft and return a failed ammonia pump module to help NASA better understand the failure mechanism and improve pump designs for future systems.
