This is a message from the CITY OF LA PORTE

4th of July Festivities kick off Monday, with the Parade beginning at 10:am & traveling south on Broadway. Concerts are from 6:pm-9:pm at 5 Points Plaza & featuring Confederate Jazzmen and Austin Allsup. The finale will take place at Sylvan Beach, with a professional fireworks display over Galveston Bay. All events are free to the public.

Please be reminded, as with any year, fireworks are prohibited within the city limits of La Porte. The ban also includes novelties, such as sparklers and with drought conditions the use could turn a celebration into a misfortune. Violators will have fireworks confiscated and could face up to a $2,000 fine or even jail time.
