‘Married to Commitment’ goes ‘Center Stage’ on blogtalkradio
A man’s gifts maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men, Proverbs 18:16 tells us.
I have certainly found this to be true — 100 percent. The Lord has given me the gift to write, which also happens to be the thing that He’s using to usher me into my wealthy place, that state of abundance.
So, I want to take this time to thank the Almighty God, my heavenly Father, for positioning me to prosper through making available to me more opened doors. I recently received a phone call from Internet radio personality Kheri Hines, host of the Fort Worth, Texas-based talk show “Center Stage” (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/centerstage).
She’d read one of my columns and saw information in the tagline at the bottom of the column talking about “Married to Commitment,” the profound book on marriage/relationships that I co-authored.
Hines invited me to be her guest for the two-hour segment “Married to Commitment,” which was broadcast “live” (Friday) July 1, 2011. To hear the in-depth interview I did with Hines, visit the on-demand episode on the above link. (When you go to the link, the interview doesn’t start until after an advertisement and then a song by Marvin Gaye, “What’s Going On”.)
Getting back to the aforementioned scripture, Proverbs 18:16: My being a guest on Hines’ show comes on the heels of my appearances on a previous Internet radio talk show and an article written about my co-author (Brigitte “Bre” Eaton) and me in The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, La.
On (Sunday) July 3, I preached a message titled “The Power to Get Wealth is in YOU.” The message — with its foundational scriptures being Deuteronomy 8:18, Proverbs 18:16 and Joshua 1:8 (making your way prosperous) — centered on the fact that God will show us how to discover the reservoir of gifts (and talents) that He placed in us so that we could then use those anointed abilities to prosper in every area of our lives.
When we have a humble spirit and we diligently seek the Lord’s face, he shows us how to better ourselves economically, while we’re, at the same time, being a blessing in the lives of others.
Because of my appearance on “Center Stage,” I was given the floor to discuss “Married to Commitment” with Hines and her listening audience.
My being on her show made it possible for me to reach so many people I otherwise wouldn’t have had access to. We talked about so many tough issues that the book addresses — from two divorced ministers (Bre Eaton and me) writing a book on “marriage” and “commitment” to answering questions about divorce and how to safely get out of situations where there is domestic abuse.
Remember, too, that the entire interview was every bit of two hours. Needless to say, we covered a whole lot of topics and major concerns that people have in the area of marriage, divorce, dating and sex outside of the confines of marriage, just to name a few. I’ve even gotten e-mails from people who have since ordered copies of “Married to Commitment”.
So, I’m grateful for the Lord using Eaton and me to produce this book, and I’m grateful for Hines bringing me to the “Center Stage” to discuss “Married to Commitment” and its nuggets of wisdom with the multitudes.
