Mable Hammonds - WilliamsMable Hammonds - Williams departed this life on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her home, with family at her side

Mable was born on February 12, 1914 to Shelby and Charity Hammonds in Chappell Hill, TX. She attended public schools in Chappell Hill. A longtime resident of Hitchcock, she was a member of Wilbur Chapel United Methodist Church in Hitchcock, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son, seven brothers, and four sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two devoted daughters, Lula Mays of Galveston, TX and Betty Octavia Brown of Hitchcock, TX; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; numerous devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 9:30AM on Thursday, July 14, 2011, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM at Wilbur Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Monette officiating. She will be laid to rest in Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
