Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to name Council Member Ed Thompson the mayor pro tem for the next year.

Following canvass of the votes of the recent runoff election, Susan Sherrouse was administered the oath of office as the new city council representative for Position 3.

The city council voted to approve the second and final reading of an ordinance to change the zoning classification of property at the northwest corner of Broadway (FM 518) and Pearland Parkway to facilitate establishment of an HEB store.

The city council voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance to approve a conditional use permit for property at 1255 Old Alvin Road to allow the operation of a church in the Single-Family Residential district.

All other agenda items were approved.  All votes were unanimous. Agenda
