SLPD Looking for Suspect in Aggravated Robbery

Sugar Land, TX - Sugar Land police are searching for Jahlani Christian Slater, an 18 year-old Houston man suspected of participating in an aggravated robbery in the 2200 block of Blue Vista Court.

An 18-year-old man said he invited a female friend to his house on July 1 just after noon. While they were in the house, the woman asked about a check she saw on the counter and then sent several text messages. A short time later, the man heard a loud knock on the front door.  He looked outside and saw two men he knew; one of them had a pistol, so he did not open the door.

The two men went to the back of the house, forced their way through a door and took the check.  The woman then left the house with the two intruders. There were no injuries.

Edward Orlando Ponce, 19, of Houston, and Stacy Marie Standre, 18, of Richmond, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Police are still looking for Slater.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275 2540.  Tips can also be provided to Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS (8477), by text messaging CRIMES (274637) or online at www.fortbend-tx-crimestoppers.org.
