Alonia was born October 12, 1932, in Brenham, TX to Willie and Mary Santee Washington. She was a longtime resident of Galveston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roy Lee Rogers; sisters, Willie Mae Steward and Dorothy Washington; brother, Henry Washington.

She leaves precious memories with her husband, Frank Rogers, Sr.; son, Frank Rogers, Jr.; daughter, Frankie Rogers Lister; brothers, James, Edward (Barbara), Roosevelt(Bertha), Eugene, and George Washington, Sr. (Irma); sisters, Freddie Mae Nickerson, Jewel Compton and Mildred Freeman (Deonjia); six grandchildren , 14 great grandchildren; special grandchildren, Destiny L. Thibodeaux, Derrick Bland, Jr., Reginald III, and Re’Hanna Handy; aunt, Myrtle Taylor; special godchild, Phillis Threadgill; host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Saturday, July 16, 2011, followed by a service celebrating her life at 2:00 PM at St. John Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
