Bacliff Stabbing Leaves One Dead
Galveston County Sheriff’s detectives are on the scene of an early morning stabbing that left one man dead.
Deputies responded to a reported assault in the 4400 block of 17th Street in Bacliff about 2:28 AM. They ultimately discovered a man, reported as being in his mid-30’s, inside a mobile home, apparently dead from an undetermined number of stab wounds.
Witnesses indicated the victim and a suspect, believed to be the victim’s brother-in-law, were involved in an argument that escalated into a violent confrontation. The suspect left the scene immediately after the stabbing, and deputies are following potential leads of his whereabouts. Detectives are interviewing witnesses to uncover events led to the fatal stabbing.
The victim’s name and other identifiers are not available for release at this time, pending notification of family members. The precise nature and extent of his injuries are as yet unknown, pending an autopsy by the Galveston County Medical Examiner.
Sheriff’s crime scene investigators are also on scene, initiating their search for evidence related to this apparent homicide.
