Bay Area Houston Guidry News Gazette Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters
Galveston County
Port of Galveston
Response to Inquiry
Wednesday, July 20, 2011

At approximately 10:00 am this morning, July 20, 2011, a van driver from Houston transporting workers to a seismic vessel docked at Pier 39 thought he had been followed by someone on a moped.

He evaded the moped and continued on course to deliver workers to the vessel.  As the van approached the west entrance of the port, the driver noticed several police officers and stopped to complain, getting out of his vehicle.  He was immediately surrounded by demonstrators when he loudly began to complain to police.  One of the demonstrators spit in the driver’s face during the incident.

The crowd was dispersed and the driver entered the Port where it was noted one of his tires had been punctured during the affray.  The passengers were delivered to their vessel, a report was made and Randall Joseph Armond, 24 years old of Santa Fe, the actor who spit in his face was arrested for Assault by Contact and transported to the Galveston County Jail.
