MULTIPLE CLOSURES SCHEDULED OVER THE WEEKEND FOR IH 10 KATY/ SH 99 INTERCHANGE
“Crews Are Continuing the Installation of Steel Bridge Girders for Future Direct Connectors”
Houston – Total closures of the mainlanes of IH 10 Katy Freeway at SH 99 are scheduled to take place over the weekend. The closures are necessary for the roadway contractor to hang steel bridge girders for the IH 10/SH 99 interchange. Motorists should expect delays and should consider an alternate route if possible.
On July 22 at 9 p.m. until July 23 at 10 p.m. there will be a total closure of the IH 10 Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes at SH 99 and the IH 10 westbound u-turn at SH 99.
On Saturday, July 23 at 10 p.m. until Monday July 25 at 5 a.m. there will be a total closure of the IH 10 Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes at SH 99.
Also, on July 22 at 9 p.m. until July 25 at 5 a.m. there will be several additional closures at the IH 10/ SH 99 interchange.
SH 99 northbound mainlanes at Affinity – Motorists will be detoured to Affinity, then turn onto Fernhurst and then turn right onto the IH 10 eastbound frontage road. They can either continue onto IH 10 eastbound or u-turn at Mason Road onto the IH 10 westbound frontage road to get back onto the mainlanes of SH 99.
Crews are working to construct direct connectors for the IH 10/ SH 99 interchange at a cost of $29.6 million.
