The Gulf Coast Workforce Board is seeking comment on proposed 2012 workforce system contract renewals.  Due to significant federal and state fund reductions, the workforce board is considering recommendations to realign its Workforce Solutions offices, including reducing the number of offices from 29 to 25. The four offices under consideration for closure are Downtown, Galveston, Spring Branch, and Winnie.  A full copy of the proposed recommendations is available for review at 2012 Contract Renewals.

A public meeting to receive comments on the proposed recommendations is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10 am to noon in the second floor Conference Room A of the Houston-Galveston Area Council, 3555 Timmons, Houston.  Comments may also be made by e-mail to carol.kimmick@h-gac.com  or by mail to Gulf Coast Workforce Board, PO Box 22777, Houston, TX 77227.  Comments received at the hearing or by August 1 can be considered at the August 2 Board meeting.
