GALVESTON-Johnetta L. Stephney, 61, departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at her residence.

Johnetta was born September 1, 1949, and was a lifelong resident of Galveston. She enjoyed sewing, watching TV and caring for her pets.

She is survived by her mother: Thelma Jackson; sisters: Jessie Williams and Trena Reece; uncles Thedo and Alfred Ricks; nephew, Anthony Jackson; nieces, Johnetta, Tamu and Mary Williams; great nieces: Montoya, Evoni and Agatha; great nephews Antonio, Smiley and Dacody; cousins: Madeline and carlton Holt, Sr.; other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 9:00 am, on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, followed by funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
