A Premier Internal HISD Charter School Relocates to Former Grimes Campus
Families invited to learn more about Energized for STEM Academy at Open Enrollment Events
Energized for STEM Academy, Inc. Southeast — one of HISD’s premier internal charter schools — is being relocated to the former Grimes Elementary School campus at 9220 Jutland Street.
Energized for STEM Academy, Inc. is a college preparatory school serving grades 6 through 12. The rigorous academic program provides an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM,) and the Fine Arts. At the middle school level, students receive specialized pre-Advanced Placement instruction to help them succeed on Advanced Placement exams in high school. Additionally, high school students have the opportunity to earn up to 24 college course credits before earning their diplomas.
Families interested in learning more about the Energized for STEM Academy Southeast campus, or the Energized for STEM Academy Southwest campus at 6201 Bissonnet Street, are invited to attend an open enrollment event at either campus on Saturday, July 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring the following required items:
· 2010-2011 Final Report Card
· All Test Records (TAKS, Stanford 10)
· Proof of residency (mortgage, rental lease, utility bill)
· Birth Certificate
· Social Security Card
· Updated Immunization/Health Records
· Copy of parent’s valid Driver’s License or State ID card.
Students who are unable to attend the open enrollment event may apply online at www.e-stemacademy.org. Classes at Energized for STEM Academy campuses are held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students are required to wear uniforms.
