Over one hundred students and teachers from Alvin Independent School District’s 21st Century program recently visited Galveston College for a campus tour.

At the completion of the tour, a group picture was taken beneath the historic South Jetty lighthouse cupola of Beacon Square, located on the College campus at the corner of 39th Street and Avenue Q.

Galveston College is starting a new choir during the 2011 Fall Semester. The choir is open for all who enjoy singing. Our musical ensemble of singers welcomes new voices. No textbook is required. No Senior Discounts apply. The cost is $35. Classes are held from 7 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. on Mondays, from August 29 to May 12.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is MANDATORY for all first time, full time students that have registered for credit classes. Students may choose an orientation session from any one of times shown below:

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 at 10 a.m.

Monday, July 18th, 2011 at 1 p.m.

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at 3 p.m.

Thursday, August 4th, 2011 at 9 a.m.

Monday, August 8th, 2011 at 1 p.m.

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011 at 5 p.m.

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 at 3 p.m.

Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at 9 a.m.

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011 at 9 a.m.

Orientation sessions provide student with information on the many services available at Galveston College. In addition, students are also able to register early for courses and take the Compass® placement examination (valid picture I.D.
