The Board of Trustees of the Galveston Wharves, in a special meeting today, met in executive session to discuss possible avenues to collect insurance proceeds from claims associated with Hurricane Ike, but took no action regarding the item.
The board was to consider avenues that included hiring legal counsel or a public adjuster or “other professionals” to protect the board’s interests.
The item had previously been discussed at the July 25 regular meeting of the board, again with no action taken.
Consideration of a contract for the dredging of Turning Basin to accommodate larger vessels, including cruise ships, at the port was withdrawn from the agenda. Therefore, no action was taken on the item.
No other action items were on the agenda. All members were present. Agenda
