On Sunday, July 31, 2011, at approximately 3:30 p.m. and with the guidance of HCSO homicide investigators, members of Equusearch located the body of a white female dumped in a wooded area off of Gene Campbell Road near F.M. 1314 in Montgomery County.
The body was released to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
On Monday, August 1, 2011, the body was positively identified as Amber Chantel Elkins. The Montgomery County Medical Examiner ruled the Manner of Death to be a Homicide.
Elkins’ boyfriend, James David “JD” Clarke, was arrested and charged with her murder.
