Pearlie O. Goins

Pearlie O. GoinsGALVESTON- Pearlie O. Goins, 81, passed away from this life on Friday, July 29, 2011, at UTMB Hospital.

Pearlie was born February 8, 1930, in Galveston to Horace and Harrietta Dickey. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a strong Christian woman. Her favorite words was I’m “Hoppin without Stopping”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur L. Goins; three sons, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by seven of her children, Willie Lee (Pearl) Goins, Geneva (Martin) Jackson, Denise (Claude) Deyon, Phyllis Brooks all of Galveston, Pearlie (James, Sr.) Josey, Audrey Romar of Texas City, Daphney Gooden of La Marque.; Sha Rhonda Goins, who she raised as a daughter; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; devoted nieces, Georgia Jones, Mary Louise Deal, Harrietta Moss; devoted cousins, Lois Ann Morris and Margaret Lamb; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9AM on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at St John Baptist Church followed by homegoing service at 10:00 AM with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
