GALVESTON-Dualu H. Freeman, 59, departed this life on August 1, 2011, at his residence.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Pastor K.W. Tillmon officiating.

Dualu was born May 20, 1952, to Samuel and Soe Freeman.  He was a former seaman, cook, and welder and was presently a laborer, with the cotton compress.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Lakitha Freeman; sons, Abubakia Freeman, Stevie Gordon; daughters, Miatta S. and Anitha L. Freeman, Ciji Gordon; six grandchildren; mother in law, Betty J. Wyatt; special friends, Edith Temple, Charlie Jeffery, Alberta and Shibohn Smith; host of nieces, nephews  and other friends.
