The victim, Salem Saif Al Mazrouei, 28, of the above address, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Chandler and Senior Police Officer M. Miller reported:

Mr. Mazrouei and his father were unloading their vehicle in front of their apartment when they were approached by two unknown male suspects.  One suspect pulled out a pistol and both suspects then demanded property from Mazrouei and his father.  While the two suspects were robbing them, Mazrouei and his father attempted to flee.  As the victims were running away, one of the suspects shot Mazrouei several times.  The suspects then fled in the victims' vehicle.  The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied.

The suspects are described only as two tall black males.
