Information sessions set for Principal Certification Academy at HCDE on Aug. 11 or 17

Information sessions for the Principal Certification Academy at Harris County Department of Education are scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11 and Wednesday, Aug. 17 at HCDE, 6300 Irvington Blvd., Houston, Texas.

The Academy is currently enrolling applicants for 2011-2012 into its residential program for aspiring administrators.  The information sessions include discussions about the program schedule and the application process.  Ample time is included for questions and answers.

The Principal Certification Academy at HCDE is a state-approved, 10-month certification program that provides comprehensive, learning-centered leadership preparation for aspiring administrators to become effective school leaders.  Small academy classes are hallmark to the program which is delivered by instructors who are experts in their respective fields.   Classes convene once a month on weekends to not interfere with students’ current work schedules.

For more information, e-mail director Lidia G. Zatopek at lzatopek@hcde-texas.org or call (713) 696-0775.
