Free AutoCAD workshops offered at ACC

To give people interested in computer-aided industrial design an opportunity to learn basic computer-aided drafting and design techniques and about the various industries they are used, the Industrial Design Technology Department at Alvin Community College will offer a free workshop on Aug. 20, Sept. 17, and Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Hosted by the department’s instructors, the workshop will cover an introduction into two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) design using AutoCAD®, one the world’s most popular drafting and design software applications. Participants will also learn about the development and applications of a 3D model and observe how a 3D printer works.

Each workshop is limited to only 20 participants, so reservations should be made as soon as possible. The workshop will be held in Building N, Room N108. Register online at www.alvincollege.edu/drafting/workshop.html. For more information please contact James Langley at jlangley@alvincollege.edu or call 281-756-3784.   ACC is located at 3110 Mustang Rd.
