James Matthew Pruett
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

James Matthew Pruett, 67, lifelong Galvestonian, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at UTMB Hospital.

 

Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 17th, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

James was born December 19, 1943, in Galveston, Texas, and was a Kirwin High School graduate, where he played center on the football team.  He spent his working career with Todd Shipyard, then with Dienst Distributing, and finally retired from Malin Construction Company, where he worked with his good friend, Danny Smith.  James enjoyed sailing and living life to its fullest.

 

James was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Pruett; and his aunt, Niece Rhodes and her husband, Frank.  He is survived by his longtime friend, Sandra Zenker, and grandchildren, Charlie Zenker and Taylor Christie.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Byrd, Pat Smith, Billy Bunch, Charlie DiBella, Frankie DiBella, and Bobby Perez.

 

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
