The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents is holding a special telephonic meeting Monday afternoon in the Board of Regents meeting room, located in the Board Annex of the Memorial Student Center on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station. Agenda The agenda for the meeting includes authorization for the president to take all actions relating to Texas A&M University's athletic conference alignment. However on Sunday, the Southeastern Conference announced that it is sticking with its 12-school membership for now.
“The SEC Presidents and Chancellors met today and reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment," said Dr. Bernie Machen, chair of the SE Conference. "We recognize, however, that future conditions may make it advantageous to expand the number of institutions in the league. We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion. No action was taken with respect to any institution, including Texas A&M.”
