The Santa Fe Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to propose a 2011 tax rate of $1.4950 per $100 valuation.

Of the total tax rate, $1.04 will be designated for the maintenance and  operation of the district, while the remaining $0.455 will be reserved for payments on the district’s bond indebtedness.

The school board voted to approve a $5 million construction contract with Cadence McShane for the Cowan Administration Building.

The school board voted to approve the district’s participation in the Gulf Region Information and Dispatch System.

The school board voted to accept the certified appraisal roll of property values within the district.

The school board voted to endorse Joe Adams for election as a member the Texas Association of School Boards Board of Directors.
