GISD Announces Back to School Student Enrollment and Registration Schedule
GALVESTON, Texas – Galveston Independent School District has set the schedule for enrolling new students and registering current ones for the first week of school, starting August 22. There will be no new enrollments or registration on the first two days of school, Monday, Aug. 22 and Tuesday, Aug. 23 for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Students new to GISD may be enrolled through the end the week. Ball High students will do so at the campus (4116 Ave. O). Enrollment will be continued on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and all day Friday, Aug. 25. Current Ball High students do not need to register for the new school year.
New elementary and middle school students, as well as those at AIM College and Career Preparatory must be enrolled at the GISD Support Center at 3904 Ave. T in Galveston. From there, they will be allowed to register at their new campus. All current elementary and middle school students will be registered at their campus.
Registration for Pre-Kindergarten programs will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 23-26 in the boardroom of the GISD Support Center. Students must be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1. For information and what items to take to the Pre-K registration, please call 409-766-5172.
