Lamar Football brings back Fun Zone for kids before Kick Off

While Lamar University football fans are able to enjoy pregame festivities like tailgating and playing video games with the Buffalo Wild Wings crew, young Cardinal fans will be able to take advantage of the Fun Zone.

For the second straight year, “LU Land” will be available for children to enjoy before kickoff. The Fun Zone will include a Moon Walk and a painting station for kids to create signs to bring to the game. Prizes and giveaways will also be handed out.

Chick-Fil-A will be contributing to The Fun Zone with its infamous 12-foot blow up cow and games such as the wheel spin and the standup toss. Gary Saurage and the crew of Gator Country will also be present with live reptiles such as snakes, crocodiles, tortoises and alligators.

“It’s something different for the kids to see,” said Saurage. “We will have them there so the kids can take pictures and play with them before the game. The children should really enjoy it.”

The Fun Zone opens 3 hours before every home game, and is located in the lot next to Subway on campus across from Provost Umphrey Stadium.
